What is Korea’s minimum wage in 2026?
₩10,320 per hour from January 1 to December 31, 2026 (Ministry of Employment and Labor Notice 2025-47). For a 40-hour week that is ₩2,156,880 a month.
What is the 2027 minimum wage?
₩10,700 per hour from January 1, 2027 (Notice 2026-60), or ₩2,236,300 a month for 209 hours.
What is weekly holiday pay (juhyu sudang)?
Workers scheduled for 15+ hours a week who complete their scheduled days get one paid day off per week. It is worth (weekly hours ÷ 40) × 8 hours of pay, up to 8 hours.
Why 209 hours a month?
40 working hours plus 8 paid holiday hours is 48 hours a week; × 365 ÷ 7 ÷ 12 (about 4.345 weeks) ≈ 209 hours.
Does this apply to foreign workers and part-timers?
Yes. Minimum wage and weekly holiday pay apply to all employees in Korea, including foreigners and part-time workers.
